Achieving gender balance in tech roles

The tech industry has long been recognized for its gender gap, with women historically underrepresented. Despite the progress made towards a more inclusive environment, there is still work to be done. According to the European Union’s European Digital Decade program, the goal is for women to make up 50% of all ICT experts by 2030. However, Eurostat’s 2023 data shows that only 19.4% of ICT experts across Europe are women, highlighting the persistent gap. Finland is slightly ahead, with women accounting for 22.2% of ICT experts.

An ICT expert refers to individuals with specialized skills in information and communication technology, ranging from software developers to system administrators and other roles critical to digital infrastructure.

Nearly half of Integrify's staffed developers are women

Against this backdrop, we’re proud to report that Integrify is ahead of the curve. Among our staffed developers, the gender distribution is nearly equal, with approximately 44% women and 56% men in technical roles—far surpassing the industry average.

In addition, 50% of our staffed developers are in permanent employment, a clear indicator that companies see the long-term value of hiring the talent we provide. This year, we also observed a significant 26% growth in employment for our staffed developers in Q3 alone, showing that demand for skilled professionals in the tech industry remains strong.

“Over the next five years, I see myself in a role where I would make significant contributions to the success of the team and the company as a whole. I aim to continuously develop my skills and take on increasing responsibilities. I am committed to growing both personally and professionally.”

As we continue to support our developers in advancing their careers, we remain dedicated to ensuring that gender equality is more than just a goal—it’s a reality. Our success in achieving gender balance among our staffed developers demonstrates that building an inclusive workforce is possible, even in sectors historically dominated by men.

The path forward

While the tech industry as a whole continues to grapple with gender disparities, we are hopeful for a future with equal opportunities for men and women in technical roles. At Integrify, we are proud to play our part in driving this change, and we remain committed to creating an environment where all developers, regardless of gender, can succeed.
